I have spent more than three decades working at the intersection of technology, academia, industry, and government.
I am recognised as a contributor to the Cambridge innovation cluster, known for designing and scaling programmes that accelerate high-potential ventures and elevate the global reputation of regional research and innovation.
I influence, inspire, and connect across multiple levels - convening researchers, investors, corporates, and policymakers to translate strategic ambition into practical delivery. My work is action-oriented and focused on overcoming the “discussion to action” gap that often slows complex organisations.
I have held board roles across the charity, public, and private sectors, and I currently serve as Chair of the Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce, contributing to regional economic growth and innovation strategy.
I am also a committed mentor to aspiring technology entrepreneurs and regularly emcee and speak at innovation events in the UK and internationally. I believe deeply in the importance of visibility - particularly in inspiring the next generation of women in technology.
About Me
Biography
I began my career with PIPEX / UUNET / Worldcom, progressing from Technical Marketing Administrator to Marketing Manager of both the UK and TeamUUNET channel programme within five years. I led the initial product launch of PIPEX Dial and managed three major rebrands through mergers and acquisitions.
In 2000, I was headhunted by IBM as a Wireless Solutions Executive to help shape its emerging wireless business practice. I developed and deployed a pan-European roadshow and led promotional programmes across Europe. Following IBM’s acquisition of a PwC business unit, I became Global RFID Leader, responsible for developing and implementing a global portfolio of solution offerings and frameworks.
I progressed through multiple leadership portfolios at IBM before becoming Head of Marketing Communications for MBPS Europe in 2007. In that role, I developed marketing performance management processes across HR, F&A, CRM, and Procurement portfolios, and contributed to securing a $400m total contract value through strategic positioning and high-impact marketing initiatives.
In 2008, I joined a global media company as Managing Director of European & APAC Operations, overseeing international events, activities, staff, and customer relationships. I also served as Global Executive Director of the HRO Today Association, managing a global knowledge community.
In 2014, I founded cofinitive, a PR and marketing consultancy supporting breakthrough startups and scaleups in technology and innovation. Over a decade, I built the firm into a recognised industry leader, earning multiple awards and securing listings in PR Week’s Top 150 Agencies Outside London. cofinitive was ranked the No.1 PR & Communications agency in East Anglia for four consecutive years and appeared in regional top listings for eight consecutive years through to 2026.
In 2025, cofinitive was acquired. I served as Managing Partner for Client PR & Marketing during the transition before stepping away later that year. That same year, I was appointed Chair of the Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce, having previously served four years as a Board Director.
I have been recognised among the 25 Most Influential People in Cambridge and regularly appear in Computer Weekly’s Most Influential Women in Tech rankings. In 2024, I was named one of the UK’s InspiringFifty. In 2026, I was invited to become Entrepreneur in Residence at Anglia Ruskin University, where I previously graduated and was named Alumni Entrepreneur of the Year.
Values
When I founded cofinitive in 2014, my career to that point had already shaped a clear view of how organisations should operate. These values were not aspirational - they were practical. They continue to guide my work today and underpin every decision I make.
Passion : Believe in what you do, without excuse.
I work with people, organisations, and ideas that matter. Passion is not noise or enthusiasm for its own sake; it is conviction, urgency, and the willingness to stay the course when things become complex. In innovation systems especially, progress depends on leaders who genuinely believe in what they are building, and are prepared to do the hard, often unglamorous work required to deliver it.
Integrity : Hold yourself, and others, true.
Integrity is the foundation of trust. It means acting consistently, making principled decisions, and taking responsibility when things do not go to plan. I only engage in work that aligns with my values, avoid conflicts of interest, and expect the same rigour from those I partner with. Strong governance starts with personal integrity, and everything else follows.
Clarity : Tell one strong story, for the benefit of all.
Complexity is inevitable; confusion is not. I believe in clarity of purpose, message, and decision-making. Whether shaping strategy, governance frameworks, or partnerships, I focus on simplifying without diluting - creating alignment across stakeholders so that everyone understands not just what is happening, but why. Clarity accelerates action.
Inclusion : Take others with you - progress is collective.
Innovation does not thrive in silos. Collaboration and “coopetition” deliver stronger, more sustainable outcomes. Inclusion means designing systems and partnerships that are representative, accessible, and collaborative, and recognising that the best solutions emerge when diverse perspectives are genuinely valued and engaged.
